As another year ends and we pause to reflect, we must begin by acknowledging the end of an era here at Lawyers Mutual of Kentucky: our Vice President of Underwriting Lois Smith is retiring. In this thank you video, Charlie English said it best when he said Lois “became a very integral part of the company.” We would love to shower Lois with well wishes, support and gratitude. The LMICK Minute will return in its usual format in January of 2024 as we continue our work to bring valuable risk education resources to you. In the meantime, and now that the holiday season is in full swing, we hope you will pause to consider how this season (or any season of stress) can impact your practice. Lawyers Mutual of Kentucky's Courtney Risk is joined by Yvette Hourigan and Dr. Heather Risk in this new on-demand ethics CLE "Oh, Yay, The Holidays!" This session explores the variety of emotions of gratitude, grief, stress, celebration and joy that come this time of year. We hope you are able to attend this CLE and enter the remainder of the season mindful of how you are managing stress.

Lawyers Mutual’s Marketing Director Nancy Meyers inquired a few weeks ago how many miles I added to my car in 2023 traversing the Commonwealth as I engaged with insureds from Paducah to Pikeville. I can now say I have added over 8,000 miles traveling the Commonwealth, bringing the total to over 18,000 since I started with Lawyers Mutual in November of 2021. The miles are just a slice of the memories I have made as we work to be more than just an insurance provider but a partner and resource to your practice. Many more miles have been logged by the rest of the Lawyers Mutual team and Board of Directors as we continue our commitment to meeting lawyers where they are across the Commonwealth.
